This has been an interesting year for our family. Michael went to Kindergarten this year and overall he did really well. That’s not to say there weren’t some ups and downs. There was a long one-month period in which everyday he had some behavior problems. I suppose they weren’t serious according to some standards. He wasn’t hurting anyone or being ugly, but he wasn’t listening and was disrupting class. It wasn’t the kind of behavior we know we can expect from him. So we came down hard on him and he finally figured out that his life was going to be a lot more enjoyable if he behaved. Anyway, long story short, we got through to him. Today was Kindergarten graduation and I am so proud of him, not because Kindergarten is such a difficult journey, but because he has hopefully learned to do his best in all ways. So anyway, today after graduation he went to hang out with his dad while I ran a few errands. When I got back, I found these pretty flowers sitting on the table. He was sitting there shoving brownie in his mouth. In between bites, he said to me, “Mom, Daddy and I picked you some flowers today.” Then he gave me a hug and a big smile. When it comes to kids, there aren’t many things that are better than that.
I just finished and perfected this new pleated pattern last week and I really like it. It’s quite a lot larger than most of my other designs, which means it would be perfect for vacations or even as a diaper bag. The last one I made, the leopard print one, has 6 pockets, so it would make a great and pretty diaper bag too.
If you scroll down you’ll see another new bag – very simple but pretty and super-functional. I say functional a lot, because as much as I love pretty bags, they have to be functional. I’m a wife and a mom and I don’t have time to go digging around in my bag to find what I need. Anyway, this one would make a perfect bag for the beach, a carry-on at the airport, or as a diaper bag. This particular one has only 3 big pockets, but in the future it will have at least 6. I like the way it looks a lot – the proportions are perfect and I love that fabric.
